About

Hi everyone I have an announcement to make.  I have changed the name of my blog.  This is a work in progress and I apoligize for any confusion.  The previous name of my blog was My Divugle Jessica's Kitchen and I have now changed to Recipe and Food Blog.

What is my blog about?
Recipe & Food Blog is an extension of my kitchen to yours.  It is my way of divulging my food possibility encounters from beyond my own kitchen walls and into the home where you live, prepare and serve your meals. I am able to share my food experiences and collaborations of recipes, food tips, and secrets I have learned to prepare meals for the ones who matter the most in my life.

Food has endless possibilities, across the table whether I am hosting a dinner party or preparing a family style meal, I try to make it a mission of mine to bridge the boundaries between the savory classic dishes I have learned to prepare along with the exotic refreshing Thai dishes that I make.

When I prepare a meal I set out to try to make dishes my family will savour down to the last bite. When cooking I like to try to feature carefully selected foods with fresh distinct flavors. I try to use a straightforward easy cooking style, to promote delicious healthier choice eating. Whether it’s a meal I am making, a recipe from my mom, a dish a friend has made something I have learned to make, even something I have eaten, or better yet something I would like to eat. I chronicle them all here at My Divulge.
How did Recipe & Food Blog begin?
My family, friends, and all who encounter my food are always saying I should start up my own restaurant because of the meals that I make. I draw much of my inspiration through my mom.  As a part of my upbringing some of my fondest memories were spent watching, learning, and assisting my mom at home and in her restaurant kitchen. To say the least my mom was gifted with the ability to cook well, preparing us all the rich and wonderful classics you see at dinner, it could be barbecue chicken, spaghetti, meatloaf on one hand and on the other hand, her rich flavor-infused Thai cuisine! Her ability to incorporate the five flavors into her dishes and meals was precise and right-on there was no end to the meal time possibilities (my mouth is watering just thinking about it).
After much thought I decided I am not really restaurant-ready at least not at this point in time. My knowledge and cooking ability is one I am constantly improving upon it's all about discovering my inner cooking identity for me.  I want to be able to reveal the gift of the savory cooking my mom shared with me.  I feel like a blog would be a good beginning for me and so here I am!
When will I talk about the Thai Cuisine side of cooking and recipes?
Ahhh yes... the Thai cuisine! It is coming; my work in progress but not to worry it is all upcoming.  While Thai cuisine has become more popular than ever with restaurant all over the United States, what I have found while cooking for parties in Utah is that there is a sort of fear of the foods unknown. There seems to be a fear of the possibility of spice and of heat that the pallet may encounter.  Often when Thai food is mentioned the natural response for so many is the attachment spicy hot food.  Now while Thai food has all capabilities of being hot and spicy that does not have to be the case.  I thought it would be best to warm you up by starting with the savory classics we are all used to and slowly ease into the Thai cuisine one bite at a time.  Patience grasshopper!
My life when I am not blogging
Well, my life is full I am glad to say.  I am the proud mom to our four kids and our puppy dog Po or like my honey would say our puppy-dodge!  Busy is not a problem for us we seem to have plenty of it. There are often sightings of us when we are with kids running to sports, school and school activities or we are off to work.  Sometimes IF you’re lucky, the stars are aligned and the time is right you just might be able to spot us out on vacation!  Can't seem to get enough of them.
